First, dump the word modest and replace with conservative and you will have better luck. Look in department stores -even budget stores like Walmart and Target in the US -for career wear or office wear, that is almost always knee length skirts and conservative styles tops. Most department stores carry conservative office wear. Consider your work wardrobe an investment in yourself and your future. Also don’t buy everything at once, budget for a couple pieces with each paycheck. This way you can build a wardrobe of work clothes a little at a time.
