If you’re talking about Excel 2007, click on the big, round icon with the colored whatever-it-is up in the left corner. Click on the rectangle with the word “New” in it and all kinds of magical choices will appear including templates. Be prepared to go online to Microsoft for everything except the Installed Templates.
