Where can I find inventors who need funding for developing their new products?
If you are looking for genuine opportunities to make money rather than just finding people who need money you have a couple of choices; 1. Find an early-stage venture capitalist and co-invest on some of his projects. VCs are not infallible – they work on the principle of 1:10 which is that one in ten of their investments will work out really well and will give them a 10 fold return, of the other nine, five will be dogs and one or two will be ok. So be sure to invest in more than one project if you go this route. 2. Find some investments yourself. To do this, you will need some basic expertise in an area so that you can evaluate the companies you are looking at. You can find start ups on the internet, look for patent filings or use one of the lists that the accounting firms publish. Whichever way you go, expect to reject 99 of every 100 as being not viable. Hard work! Remember; most projects fail not at the prototype stage but at the product ramp up stage after they get their first larg
