Where can I find information on the Japanese Cicada?
I’m not sure exactly what kind of information you are looking for and why wikipedia would not be useful but I can’t imagine there being too much scientific info online in English or Japanese if google hasn’t found it for you. Perhaps this is a case of something still found more in a textbook than the web. As someone of Japanese descent who’s lived in Japan, it doesn’t surprise me that most sites out there are individuals (random non-expert) just talking about semi (name in Japanese), being something Japanese are fond of, how noisy they are, etc. Japanese talk about semi with a bit of nostalgia. I came across several sites like that and some post pictures and audio but each one seemed to reveal one more little fact. I’m not sure if you’ve seen these or find them useful but it’s worth a look.
