The following information has been provided by the ABRC: In growing transgenic Arabidopsis, The ABRC conforms to level BL-1 of containment. The law governing this is in the Federal Register, 7 CFR parts 340 and 330. In sending seeds, no permit is required for transgenic Arabidopsis, although the seeds are in a sealed container, inside another sealed plastic envelope, which is also inside a solid double biohazard mailing can. The ABRC does not distribute Agrobacterium, as this requires an individual permit for each shipment.
