A good place to start is www.anabin.de. Anabin is a database of information on university qualifications and degrees awarded by universities outside of Germany, the conditions for their award and notes on their status in comparison with German academic degrees. The database has been developed by the Hesse Ministry of Science and Arts, the Central Office of International Education (Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen), the Equivalence Centre of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Culture and the Equivalence Centre of the Ministry of Science in Luxembourg. The database is in a ongoing process of development and does not as yet claim to be comprehensive. However, the database does provide information about the relationship between a foreign qualification and a German qualification (the “equivalence class”).
