Where can I find information about rare and endangered plants?
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation oversees several environmental efforts to protect the state’s native plants, including rare and endangered species. Botanists from the Natural Heritage Program keep track of the status of the state’s rare flowering plants, conifers, ferns and fern allies, and mosses. Please click on the link below or go to DEC’s web pages for more information on botany and for New York State’s lists of endangered and rare plant species.
