The following are some resources on First and Second World War battlefields: Canadian’s Guide to the Battlefields of Normandy and A Canadian’s Guide to the Battlefields of Northwest Europe (2nd edition), both by Terry Copp, provide excellent information on planning a trip to Europe and its battlefields complete with maps and suggested tours. They are available at the Laurier Centre for Military Strategic and Disarmament Studies. The Canadian Battlefields in Italy, Ortona and the Liri Valley by Eric McGeer with Matt Symes is an excellent book featuring satellite maps and photos. It is also available from the Laurier Centre for Military Strategic and Disarmament Studies. Tours of Europe are offered by the Laurier Centre for Military Strategic and Disarmament Studies and the Canadian Battlefield of Normandy. Terry Copp, military historian at Wilfrid Laurier University, leads the tours. Anyone interested in learning more about the tours can contact Mike Bechthold.
