Where can I find information about performance driving schools and/or exotic car rentals near my area?
And what country or state might that area be? Look at the ads in the back of car magazines, they often have ads for performance driving schools (Skip Barber, etc.). They would not let you drive them on the street, but you can web search “exotic car rental”. If you have your own performance car there are events around from lower speed, safer but challanging, parking lot slaloms (like SCCA Solo II), to high speed time trials or autocross.
