Due to the many variables that can affect the fuel consumption of a Marine Engine, Honda (UK) is not able to provide any real world fuel consumption figures. This is purely down to the fact that every boating scenario is slightly different, some of the basic reasons are as follows. The majority of boat hulls are hand made and consequently the individual weights and centres of gravity are always slightly different. Consequently two identical boats will give different fuel consumption figures with the same Engine fitted. The gross weight will also vary each use; things that will have an effect are the variables like the crew, fuel, luggage and equipment. Fuel consumption is also affected by the sea conditions and the strength of the wind and the tide. An area that will also change the fuel consumption is the salinity of the water.
