Where can I find extensive celtic knotwork symbolism and meanings?
While it does seem likely that Celtic knotwork had some sort of symbolism, their meaning has unfortunately been lost, any book or web site claiming to have the information is talking complete rubbish. The Celts rarely wrote things down preferring to use oral traditions and these were lost during the Roman occupation. Things are muddied further by the fact that Celtic style knotwork was used in a purely decorative way by Norsemen and early English Christians.
