Where can I find an authentic spell book, or metaphysical shop in NY?
Merry Meet! I also live in Upstate NY and I know how tough it is to find those shops! It sounds to me like your looking for someone’s old grimoire that their family has used for generations – or, you’re looking for the Book of Shadows from the show Charmed. I really don’t think you’re going to find anything like this for sale. You can find spellbooks and they will all say their spells are authentic, but the authors want to sell their books now, don’t they? To me, part of my journey is the creation of my own personal Book of Shadows. I write down my rituals, spells, recipes, and everything else in there and it is becoming that old grimoire. Also, I find that spells that I create for myself work much better than someone else’s ready made spell. Definitely check out Scott Cunningham’s “Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner”, he has a lot of information in there including spells and rituals.
