I like where your head’s at, man. I did a Mario costume once, a homemade one, and it was pretty spiffy. First, you need a pair of blue denim overalls, and a red (or green, for Luigi) long-sleeved shirt. Any pair of shoes will do, but Mario tends to wear brown and Luigi, very dark brown. Luigi also wears red-and-white striped socks, whereas Mario has plain ones. If you have tight white gloves, wear them: the Bros. wear gloves. You can go without them, however. Next up is a hat, which you’ll probably have to make. Get a red or green baseball cap, depending on your choice of character, and then get some white felt. Cut a large pill-shape, about 3×4 inches or so, then cut out either a bold “M” or a bold “L” in, respectively, red or green. Glue or sow this letter to the pill-shape and glue/sow this to the hat.
