You’ve raised an important question. As a home buyer, it is not impossible to find homes that have aready been modified for wheelchair access, but unfortunately there isn’t any sort of master list–no “check box” for whether or not a home has been made fully accessible. Usually, you have to depend on the public remarks in the multiple listing service, and “wheelchair accessible” can mean a lot of different things–from “the house is accessible because we have widened some of the doors” to “the house is fully accessible because the bathroom is roll-in. fully accessible.” If I were setting up a search for someone hoping to buy a wheelchair accessible home, the best hope of finding these sometimes elusive homes would be to run an automatic MLS search with the public remarks flagged to pull anyt
