July 3, 2009 – Some Real Fireworks! America – it’s a fabulous country, isn’t it? High up on my list of reasons why I love living here is fireworks on the Fourth of July! In honor of the celebration of America’s independence, I’m dedicating this newsletter to all things fireworks. So, grab a blanket, some snacks (and possibly a bottle of champagne) and head out for one of these fantastic fireworks displays. Here’s what’s happening across the country: There’s nothing more romantic than fireworks sparkling over the Charles River for Bostonians — except, of course, for a Red Sox win. Chicago Independence Eve Fireworks – July 3, 2009, 8:00 p.m.: Chicago holds its main fireworks display on July 3rd instead of the 4th — supposedly the thought being that since the majority of people have the next day off, they can stay downtown later. A good thing, too, because with the over 1 million people that attend on that night it takes a considerable amount of time to get home. The fireworks are launched from Monroe harbor, so most spots near the lake front from Navy Pier to Soldier Field make for a decent view.
