The FSA do not approve laboratories for testing, but rather the Agency recommends plant operators choose a lab whose quality is assured by proficiency testing and the application of an independent external accreditation scheme. A list of suitable testing labs is available at http://www.ukas.org/testing/singlesearch.asp. Other accreditation schemes are also used by contract laboratories.
