Where Can I Find A Labelled Map Of Ancient Rome?
Maps of Ancient Rome are part of history textbooks where the extent and stretch of Rome’s influence is a popular subject of study. The subject is therefore very common and maps are not hard to come by. Detailed maps are tricky and differ according to the era they belong to. The best place to look is perhaps the Royal Geographic Society at 1 Kensington Gore, London SW7 2AR. Since maps are what we need the British Cartographic Society is perhaps the best alternative. Its members include “individuals and organisations dedicated to the World of Maps”. In literal terms members are publishers, mapping companies, designers, researchers, map curators, academics, specialists etc. They can be contacted unfortunately only through the internet. But their database on map sources is extensive. One possible foreign alternative is the National Geographic Society, PO Box 19, Knaphill, GU21 9AG.
