Where can i find a great site that i can get oxidation numbers for all elements from?
You don’t need a “list” as such, by following a few simple rules, you can work out the oxidation number of any given species in any given compound, ie, all molecules/atoms are neutral, eg, h2o, if you know that oxygen has an oxidation state of -2, then it can be seen that to make the overall charge neutral, the H must carry a charge of +2 between them, giving each H atom in this compound an overall +1 oxidation state, which is observed to be correct. The main rules you need can be seen here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxidation_n… good luck!
