As a way to find my digital photography hobby, I’m working on a plan to start a store reselling Canon equipment. My primary distribution avenues are friends & family, amazon, ebay, and a webstore I’m working on. As is true with a lot of large vendors, Canon doesn’t make this road very clear. I’ve been attempting to find a good wholesaler or distributor for Canon gear, and I’m getting a bit stuck. I’ve attempted asking on LazyWeb & on Alibaba, with no response from LazyWeb, and nothing but Spam (of course) from Alibaba. How does one go about finding a good wholesaler for consumer electronics? I’m looking to start with a purchase of 5-10 Canon XTi bodies, and a some one-off purchases of various accessories (lenses & flashes). I’ve found some dropshippers, but I think the margins will be better if I inventory some gear (with the cost risks associated).
