Adobe offers a free trial for download at their Web site. There’s also Photoshop Express, which is the online version. Another option is The GIMP (Gnu Image Manipulation Program). This is open-source, legally-free software that works much like Photoshop, but without the price tag. If you’re a student, check the campus computer store, or the university’s Web site, for student-discount offers. My school, for example, offers all sorts of software for a lot less than the retail price. Microsoft Office is, like, twenty bucks through them.
