Where can I find a diamond engagement ring wedding ring where I can put it on layaway?

Years ago we put my engagement ring on lay-away at Zales. Get your yellow pages out and make phone calls to jewelry stores and ask if they do lay-away – it’s really the only way to find out! You can also decide on what store to go to, go in advance, and tell the sales clerk what price range you want to look at – or you can have this arrangement with your fiancee so she doesn’t want more than you can buy – even on lay-away. Another thing, in some states if, when the ring is paid for, you mail it to someone out of state, you don’t have to pay sales tax on it!

First I would say call around to the jewelry stores in your area because a lot of them do have layaway plans. I know kluh’s does. If all else fails walmart does sell some rings and they have a layaway oh yeah and so does kmart. If you can’t afford to pay for the ring all at once layaway is a good idea, you don’t get ripped off and they aren’t taking advantage of people who can’t afford buying things outright. Now applying for a loan from a bank etc.. that’s a whole other can of worms. you get the amount you need(if you qualify) plus you get to pay bank fees, service fees, and interest every month until you finally can pay the amount you borrowed plus interest back. Stick with the layaway plan it will SAVE you more money in the end. More money you can spend on the rest of the wedding or honeymoon.

Most jewelry stores have layaway. But seriously, that’s a very bad way to start off a life together. If you miss a payment or two, it goes back in the case for someone else to buy, and you’ll have lost whatever money you spent on it. They sell very nice engagement rings for under $300. Mine was only $99. I accidentally saw the receipt. That was in 2002. Pawn shops have them, as well as jewelry stores and department stores with jewelry counters. My engagement ring has never had any problems.

Don’t put it on layaway. Just take whatever amount of money you were planning on paying each week on layaway and put it in a savings account. Then after two months take that money and go buy the ring you want. Layaway is never a good idea. If you aren’t able to make a payment you could lose everything you already paid into it. You don’t know that some emergency won’t come up and you’ll have to choose between making the ring payment or getting to a doctor! So just use a savings account.
