Where can I find a DECENT strawberry shortcake recipe?

Strawberry shortcake is traditionally made with a biscuit type dough, and does not contain alcohol or chocolate, but there’s nothing stopping you from using the basic formula(strawberries and whipped cream) with any kind of cake you want. But I wouldn’t exactly call it strawberry shortcake if it wasn’t made from biscuit-type dough. I’ve been disappointed to order what was called strawberry shortcake on a menu and find out they used regular cake.
