Where can I find a database of MLB statistics through 2008?
You are looking for a microsoft access accessible database. A few years ago, the one that drove baseball almanac, was publicly available. It has since been locked away. However, it would be much to big for someone to send you anyway. Mine is rather large, but I constantly add to it since 2001. Edit: If you look at chipmaker’s answer below, this is the one I was talking about. I did find one issue with it when I got it back in 01, and that was players with last names starting with Wh, seemed to have been skewed, so check that out to see if the Batter / fielding tables match up with name, year and team. But it’s a great database.
