Where can I find a circuit diagram of a standard electric kettle?
Since small electrical appliances are not usually designed to be repaired, the manufacturers don’t usually make circuit diagrams available to anyone outside the company. A simple kettle might consist of just a heating element (resistor) with a cord and plug attached to it. A more complex kettle might have a separate base with a cord and plug attached and a special connection mechanism that connects power to the kettle when it is placed on the base. The base may contain a switch that is turned on by putting the kettle on the base but which is designed to prevent being turned on in any other way. Many kettles have an automatic thermal cutoff that turns off the power when the water boils. In addition or instead of an automatic “boiling water” cutoff, there may be one or more safety cutoffs to prevent the kettle from overheating if there is no water inside. A kettle with an automatic boiling water cutoff will probably also have a switch that is designed to initiate the heating cycle only w
