I could actually play the Sims 2 on Vista without downloading anything. If you right click on the Sims Icon, go to Properties, then the Compatibility Tab. In the Compatibility Mode, you’ll need to check the box and run it in compatibility with XP or something other than Vista. This worked great for me and didn’t have to mess with downloads. I hope this helps!
