Gimp has the iWarp filter, which kinda performs the same trick, but at the expense of a zoom function, rendering it almost useless… Being free, it is worth a shot, though. You’ll find it in the filter–>distort menu. There used to be a program from MetaCreations xalled ‘Super Goo”, which basically did the same thing, but with less control options. It is no longer available (which has been the case for a long time). You might find it somewhere on the internet by doing a google search. Another option would be Photoshop Elements – the complete liquefy filter is available in that version as well, and it won’t cost you an arm and a leg.
