Where can I download a dvd decoder so that windows media player plays dvds?
codecs.com (or free-codecs.com) is a very useful one-stop-shopping location for anything related to audio or video encoding, decoding, or transcoding. I gather that what you may want, or think you need, is simply another codec or three to let you play certain things in WMP that are unsupported by default. codecs.com indeed has many dozens of codecs and codec “packs” like K-Lite, but you might want to consider an alternative approach: get an entirely new media player while you’re at it, rather than just some codecs. I would highly recommend “Media Player Classic”, which is patterned after the tried-and-true WMP 6.4 (before it got bloated with DRM and bubblegum), “VLC”, and finally “TCPMP”, The Core Pocket Media Player, which has a version for both desktop Windows and Windows Mobile, if you have a Pocket PC. I use TCPMP on my Pocket PC as an MP3 and video player, and Media Player Classic mostly on my desktop; I use VLC to handle the occasional thing that MPC can’t, for whatever reason. B
