Where can I dispose of old tyres or get them recycled in the Republic of Ireland?
It is difficult to imagine that there isn’t any common knowledge about how and where to dispose of old tires. If your area is so unknowing on this problem about the only way you can bring up the issue to gain any ground is to contact your government on the issue. If you are in such an area where there just isn’t enough industry, you need to find out where the industry is located that would handle this problem. The unfortunate part is that if your area doesn’t have enough old tires that need to be disposed of, some place would need to be found to store old tires until there were enough to haul to a site where they could be taken. Now, the storage of old tires is very dangerous due to spontaneous combustion from the heat generated by piles of tires. Fires from burning tires are almost impossible to extinguish, and depending upon how many tires are involved, could take weeks, or even months before they burn themselves out. In the meantime they can cause many more fires as well as destroy
