If you are not ready to open a bank acct yet, you can get one of those prepaid spending cards like at netspend.com and have your check directly deposit onto there in the near future. For right now you can go to your local grocery store that cash checks as well as walmart where it is a $3.00 fee. Going to the bank from where the check is written from is now a $5.00 fee. Check cashing places will charge any where from 1% to 3% of your check, they also provide those prepaid visa or mastercard as well.
