The best place to buy would be the American Type Culture Collection, if you are in the USA. www.atcc.org ATCC carries many different Staphylococcus epidermidis strains. Just type in the name of the bacterium in the Search window at the top right. Some are $ 37, others are $ 240 (I did not check all of them, but there is quite a range). Price differences are probably dependent on whether they are freeze-dried (can be shipped at room temp) or frozen (need to be shipped on dry ice). This bacterium is a Biosafety level 2, moderate risk. Please do not work with bacteria if you are untrained. Be safe!
