Where can I buy rare / low budget films?
There are several sources from which you can buy films: Order them through your local video rental outlet. Many rental outlets will special order items. A smaller, independent video store that specializes in a wide range of films is your best bet. Many record stores stock films and will place orders for you. I would not advise going to Blockbuster, in particular, or other large, mainstream companies. Blockbuster, at least in the US, is known for demanding personalized edits of commercial films, because of a policy that films they rent should be watchable by almost all ages. This can result in a film being rendered incomprehensible to the viewer. Some movies are only available in ‘Blockbuster’ versions, unfortunately. Wal-Mart implements similar restrictions by refusing to handle many films.
