It also helps your body produce endorophins, “nature’s pain relievers”. If your muscle pain is caused by “guarding”, i.e., by staying in an awkward position to prevent nerve pain, TENS might help by addressing the nerve pain, but TENS doesn’t actually “touch” the muscles. EMS (electrical muscle stimulator) units are designed to address muscle pain. If you have insurance, you may wish to speak to your physician about how to get one of these.
