The best way to buy an iPod in India is to visit the Apple website and see the list of Apple Authorised Resellers in your city, these dealers are individually assessed by Apple and authorised to stock, sell & service their products. The iPod plays almost all known music formats, it doesnt however play Windows Media Audio formats but converts them if they are not locked. To sum up on the Music front it plays MP3, AAC, WAV, MIDI, AIFF and Apple Lossless formats. On the video front support is a little less for formats although it plays the leading MP4 format.
