Where Can I Buy A Noble Title?
You can’t. Noble titles are not for sale. The closest thing to a title you can buy is a “Lord of the Manor.” The title and the actual property were separated, I believe in 1926. It is real property (as in real estate), and you can call yourself “Joe Bloggins, Lord of the Manor of Someoldplace.” You cannot call yourself Lord Bloggins, or anything like that, and it does not make you a noble. It is just a piece of property, much like a house, or some land. There is a similar thing in Scotland, but there you are called a Baron. Technically, this is also a piece of property separated from the actual land. At one time, when applying for a coat of arms, the Lord Lyon would grant a chappeaux, the mark of a baron (this is a special kind of hat that the crest sits on). I am not sure if that is still the case. This also does not make you noble. However, a coat of arms in Scotland technically does ennoble you, although without a title. The debate on whether this is also true of English arms remain
