In almost every state you are required to maintain a special permit in order to buy or own venomous snakes. Also, many facilities or dealers to not sell venomous animals to customers who cannot prove ownership of this permit. Once you’ve gone through those processes (which can take more than a year in most places), then you can look into purchasing a cobra. I regret saying this (as I do not know whether you are experienced enough for hots or not), but Kingsnake.com has good venomous classifieds, and Diamond Reptiles normally has nice king cobras. Both require permits for sales. Edit: There are two methods that you may be talking about. Defanging only lasts a few days, a couple of weeks at most, and you almost never know when those fangs are going to grow back. Venomoid snakes exist, where you can get the entire venom gland removed and replaced with silicone.
