Where can i buy a Bernese mountain dog?
I would start with the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America. They can tell you about breeders. We live in Chicago and go to the IKC dog show at McCormick Place every year in February. That is a good place to see dogs in action and talk to breeders. However there are shows all over, all year. You might also want to hang out at Montrose Ave. dog beach on a busy weekend. If you see a BMD, approach the owner and ask them where they got their dog. A busy dog park is a great place to network, ask questions, and get advice. Don’t settle for a dog just because it’s close. Great breeders will ship their dogs. Our second dog came from California. Picking up a pup at O’Hare was interesting yet easy. She was in great spirits and didn’t seem to mind the trip at all.
