Where can a deaf person get mental health counseling?

0

Your county should have a Mental (/ Behavioral) Health Clinic. Contact them, in writing if need be, requesting counseling. Speak of the counselor’s need to be able to “sign” State in the letter, your area of counseling desired. For example, relating to depression, relationship, employment, anger management, negative memories or events or trauma, desiring direction, or questions of mental health, guilt…..(etc.) If this mental health clinic does not have a person on staff who can meet your need, they will likely find another counselor in the school or community who can treat you. The second alternative, would be to include a person to confidentially translate for the counselor and you. A third alternative, would be to communicate with a hearing counselor in writing to more fully express your answers and for the counselor to respond to you.
