Where are the requirements for registering with the DOT that we ship hazardous materials?
The DOT registration requirements are found at 49 CFR 107, Subpart G. Note that the registration requirements are not part of the Hazardous Materials Regulations in 49 CFR Parts 171 through 180. The DOT requires that anyone who offers for transportation or transports certain shipments of hazardous materials must register with the DOT prior to offering or transporting the material.
