Where are the records physically located?
We are using an American service provider, by the name of “Taleo,” to host the Edmonton Public Library’s online recruitment system. Information in the candidate’s application is stored electronically on a server in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The information will be protected with appropriate security safeguards. Taleo has deployed a multilayered security infrastructure that includes Taleo managed network intrusion prevention systems, stateful firewalls, host based intrusion prevention systems and a fully hardened infrastructure as per ISO 270001. Taleo employs a full-time permanent Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Global Information Assurance Certified employees. The off-site location where all back-ups are stored is in Quebec City, Canada. Copies of a job applicant’s resume (for those candidates who were interviewed) will be stored in Human Resource Services Division for a period of one year and then transferred to archives.
