Where are the past Big Brother winners now?
Previous Big Brother winners have had mixed success at finding lasting fame and fortune after the show. Almost all of them have attempted careers in showbusiness. Some have become wealthy and well-known while others have disappeared back into obscurity. Builder Craig Phillips won Britain’s first Big Brother in 2000, using his £70,000 prize money to pay for a friend’s heart and lung transplant. He went on to become a full-time TV DIY expert, appearing in House Call and Trading Up on the BBC and Renovation Street on ITV. He also appears regularly on the Channel 4 comedy show Bo Selecta. Brian Dowling, last year voted the nation’s favourite Big Brother contestant, has become one of the most successful winners after entering Big Brother 2 as a cabin crew supervisor with Ryanair.
