Where are the only places glaciers can form?
Glaciers form anywhere that has more snow fall than melts during a year, so that the net effect is snow accumulation. If accumulation is greater than ablation, the snow back builds up, ultimately converting to ice through intermediate stages of neve and firn. With sufficient ise buildup, eventually gravity will take over and result in the ice flowing, and that defines a glacier. In general that means you need the following conditions satisfied: 1. northern or southern latitude 2. high precipitation 3. cold average temperatures You don’t need all three, as there are glaciers on the equator (Mt. Kilimanjaro, several in Ecuador), and there are glacier-free area in extreme northern climates (such as Citronen Fjord in Greenland).
