Where are the oldest buildings in the world?

They are on the Maltese archipelago which consists of Malta, the largest island and its neighbour Gozo with the small island of Comino in between. Located in the middle of the Mediterranean sea Gozo boasts the oldest free standing building in the world. The prehistoric temple Ggantija is 5600 years old, older than the pyramids of Egypt and Stonehenge of England. Other similar structures may be found on Malta such as the Tarxien temples, Hagar qim and Mnajdra. Although not quite as old as Ggantija they still are amongst the oldest structures in the world.
