Where are the nonmetals on the periodic table?
The nonmetals are located in the upper right-hand side of the periodic table in groups 14 through 16. Nonmetals are defined as those that cannot conduct electricity or heat well. They can be gases such as oxygen or solids like carbon. Other nonmetals include hydrogen (found in group 1, period 1), phosphorus, sulfur, nitrogen and selenium.
