Where are the nomination papers filed?
Nomination papers must be filed in person with the Town Clerk at 1 Municipal Centre Drive, starting January 4, 2010 between the hours 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Nominations will not be accepted after Nomination Day (Friday, September 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.) unless otherwise indicated. All candidates must show proof of identity and qualifying address (e.g. driver’s licence) when filing the nomination with the Clerk. The nomination paper (declaration section) must be signed in front of a Commissioner of Oaths and staff is available to administer such oath in the Office of the Clerk. When an agent is filing nomination papers on behalf of a candidate, the candidate’s declaration must be commissioned prior to the agent filing the paper with the Clerk. Nominations cannot be accepted by fax. It is necessary that all material filed with the Clerk include original signatures.
