Where are the nearest shops?
Both the villages of Ulpha and Eskdale have post offices with limited provisions. Gosforth, approximately 10 miles towards Whitehaven, has a small supermarket with most things that you would need. Broughton-in-Furness, approximately 8 miles away has a very good quality shop, butchers, bakery and post office, although rather expensive for your general shopping. The larger stores are situated in Barrow-in-Furness and Whitehaven both about 25 miles away.
