You’ll find some of the most beautiful house located around Lake Monroe in Bloomington, Indiana. The houses that overlook the lake are just unbelievable. I use to visit my aunt there in the fall and we would take drives around Lake Monroe and the scenery is just spectacular. I’d recommend visiting in the Spring or Fall seasons. In the Spring season, you want to visit in March or April and the Fall season you want to go during September or October. Be sure to visit in the months I’ve identified, because the seasons are very short. Spicewood and Sycamore Knolls are two nice areas with beautiful houses. They are both mature, but well-maintained areas, though Spicewood is slightly pricier and newer. People in the Bloominton area seem to give both of these areas universal good reviews. They are also close by the University of Indiana, in case you are planning on going to school or teaching there.
