Kathy P is actually *largely* (not entirely) correct. She correctly interprets the passage in Isaiah (not that it’s hard – the bible itself tells us that it is describing the king of Babylon, not Satan). Much the same can be said for the passage in Ezekiel – the bible itself tells us that it is someone other than Satan who is being described in this passage. More: Lucifer is a Latin **translation** of a word that means “morning star” (or something similar). Lucifer, in other words, is not a biblical name, nor is it a word found in any original language manuscript. The use of a Latin translation of a word as a name in an English language bible is the consequence of myths that arose regarding that word based on the Latin translation. Thus, the Latin translation was retained as a name in other languages by those translators who had adopted those myths. However, Kathy P was incorrect in claiming that Satan has not become evil. We see in Zechariah that Satan has a definitely – less than fri
