Where are the Best Toys in Austin, Texas?
Let me say, I LOVE this boutique. I was very excited that there was finally a boutiue close by. I have been there many many times and my infant daughter has several of their outfits, toys and accessories. When other reviewers say that Baby Bugaloo is pricey, I really disagree. Of course, they will not be chain store prices… but they are very reasonable as far as boutiques go and half the prices of other boutiques here in Austin (i.e. Oh Baby). Most boutiques have too much of other items and not clothing and Im glad that Baby Bugaloo has more clothing to choose from so I dont have to order it from different websites to get what I want! I dont think that the prices are NOT that much more than websites either. I search for items online frequently and, for example, was looking for an awesome tutu and matching top for my daughter’s one year birthday. The original seller’s website sold it only for $2 cheaper, so after shipping I would’ve paid more! AND it ws the cutest I could find anywehe
I had been a loyal First Federal Comics customer for 9 years (since I moved to Austin in 98). When they closed they moved my subscription to Thor’s (they were owned by the same people). I generally pick up my comics every 2-3 weeks. This time when I went in, I found they had arbitrarily cancelled my subscription and put all my comics back on the shelf. They did this to a number of customers without warning. This is really irresponsible customer service, especially to a loyal customer of 9 years who spends an average of $50-70 per month on comics. I’m taking my business elsewhere.
their bday parties are very unique and the kids love them. we’ve attended a hawaiian themed party and a 3 year-old tea party. they were both excellent. they have great workshops for kids; lots of variety. we’ve also attended their summer camps. art is one of our favorite ones.Pros + customer serviceCons – wish they had more locations
Lowbrow Emporium is one of those Austin-cool stores that sells quirky art, eclectic gifts, and best of all, the funkiest Longboard Skateboards around. It’s actually one of the only places in Austin that does specialize in longboards and their selection is awesome. From standard trick boards you see every kid riding to the fat old-school boards from the 80’s to the already mentioned longboards. They also sell skateboard accessories so that you can put together your own if you want. From crazy colorful wheels to all sizes of trucks to grip tape to screws, you name it. Even if you are not a boarder, its hard not to be impressed with what they have and the graphics on their boards.What I dig the most about this store is the way it’s set up. It’s got this vibe about it where all the gifts in the store could pass as art. Hell, I just like going in to look around. It feels like an art gallery. The only thing missing are benches in each section of the store so that you can relax and take it
