The ambience is wonderful, the service is great and the food is excellent. We will go back in a heartbeat. It is so nice to have this quality of restaurant in Austin!The portions are very big. We thoroughly enjoyed everything, although the minestrone is a bit thicker than is classic and had no legumes. The salad dressing and all the sauces were excellent and rich; The boar shanks were so tender they melted in your mouth and the pork chop was thick and juicy with a fabulous marsala sauce. I eat here practically every other day for breakfast and lunch. This place is great! The staff are soo friendly and happy. The service is super quick during the lunch at 12 when I go by for a sandwich. I did find there’s a variety of options to choose from and I simply love the club supreme!! The prices compared to everyone else around me are the most reasonable. You get more bang for the buck. As for the quantity and quality, heck all you got do is ask for more. I’ve done it before, I hate shredded lettuce, and they are super nice to substitute it with romaine. Considering a regular 6 sub is much bigger than the ones you get from Quiznos, subway, or Thundercloud, for only $4.50, all you got do is ask for extra meat and pay $2 more. I did this once for my boyfriend’s order, and it was packed and worth the $2 extra.So in a nut shell, the spot I go to has great product considering the other deli options around. I’ve been here for HH many times but never on a Friday and we never have sat at the bar until this Saturday. My girlfriend and I had dinner here this past Sat. before we went out for the evening and our experience was a “first class, five star” service. The really funny thing were the two bartenders making us laugh because they were joking with one of the guest about not getting them two confuse, one has hair and one doesn’t. The “no hair” guy greeted us and took our order. He went as far as placing napkins down for us. He just didn’t take our order and ran off to make drinks. He made sure we were comfortable and satisfied before he moved on. My comment was, “Wow! VIP treatment”! We both agreed! Both of them checked on us and “no hair” made us an “Asian Love” martini. That was the best drink I ever had made with champagne. As we were sitting there, one thing we both notice was that everyone comes over to this guy and he treats everyone of them with the same courtesy. We’ve b
