Where are the Best Shoes in Portland, Oregon?
pedX is breath of fresh air. owned and operated by two local women portland finally has a shoe store that is both nice looking and friendly.the shoe selection is large for the smallish downstairs space and they’ve got beautiful bags and jewelery at very reasonable prices.while most of the items are for women, the selection of men’s shoes has some gems.upstairs they’ve devoted thier space to monthly art shows of local artists. most start on the last thursday of every month to appeal to the Alberta crowds.pedX is VERY welcome addition.Pros + great products, very reasonable, great spaceCons – space small, can get crowded
The Xtabay is the only place I can think of in Portland that is actually fun to shop at and I don’t leave feeling like crap about myself. The store has such a good range of sizes (size 10 shoes too!)and the larger items are just as lovely as the size six dresses and shoes. Each item in there has it’s own special charm. (I never feel like I’m wading through junk to get to the one tresure in the place), plus they’re ALWAYS getting in new stuff. This store is great. you must hit if you’ve never been there. OH, also the people who work there are very nice and helpful and know the inventory well enough to help you out if you’re feeling stuck. Very sincerely, Sarah F. PS the prices here are very reasonable tooPros + selection, good prices, good time atmosphereCons – uh, ?, hmmm
I was training to walk a marathon and started having a joint issue. Someone recommended I go to Fit Right for some help. The salesperson put me on a treadmill and saw that I was pronating and recommended several different shoes in different price ranges. Of course, it was the expensive one that felt the best. But as I could see the difference when they videotaped me I was sold. The staff is extremely knowledgable. But it is sometimes understaffed when there are more than a couple of people in the store.
I am always impressed by the selection at Bella Moda but this season might be the best. I was looking for a pair of Italian knee high boots and walked out with 1 from Turkey, 1 from Peru and 1 from Italy. Who could ask for more. Next pay check I will stock up on some shoes! So many countries so little time! I never get that level of customer service any where else. Even the male staff is completely up to date on the latest fashion trends. Thank you Bella Moda for finally bringing Portland up to date with the rest of the world!Pros + Great location, great prices, SUPERIOR STAFFCons – There aren’t more stores around Oregon!
I’m a guy who loves shoes. Johnny Sole is the only place to go. Two floors (!!!) of shoes for men and women. Italian. Spanish. Pointy. Square. Boots. Loafers. Camper. Destroy. Kenneth Cole. The lists and descriptions could go on and on! Prices usually range in the $95.-150. area for the footwear i like, although one time i dropped $595. on the coolest square toed Python boots ever. Sales help is not pushy, and they know the product. They have even suggested other places to shop when i could not find what i was looking for; most boutique shops will not do that. Portland is lucky to have a great shoe store called Johnny Sole!Pros + mens and womens, super cool styles, reasonable prices
